PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad - Richard Thompson raced to a new Trinidad & Tobago's 100m record at Saturday's Sagicor National Open Track and Field Championships.

Thompson stopped the clock in 9.85 (1.0m/s wind) to beat the previous national record of 9.86 by Ato Boldon achieved on four occasions between 1998 and 1999.
